Frequently Asked Questions
What is a screening?
A screening is a process where our Professional Floor Manager evaluates your dog to see whether he/she would do well in a cage free environment. You will also receive a tour of our facility at this time.
How long is the screening?
A screening usually takes about 45 minutes.
Is there any paperwork I need to bring in or fill out at the screening?
Yes, you will need a copy of your dog's current shot records for our files, and you will need to fill out the TLD doggie day care contract and liability release form before you do the screening. We require annual Rabies, Distemper/Parvo as well as Bordatella within the last six months. Without proof of these vaccinations, we are unable to do the screening.
How much does the screening cost?
The screening fee is $20 and includes 2 hours of free day-care. Once the screening is completed, you can either leave your dog immediately or come back at any time, as long as the dog's shots are current (including bordatella). We recommend you leave your dog for the 2 free hours of day-care immediately following the screening (provided we have all shot records), so your dog has an opportunity to become familiar with The Loved Dog, our staff and be confident that you will be coming back to get him/her.
Do I have to pay if the Professional Floor Manager suggests that I leave my dog with you for a few hours after the screening or for a few hours another day so that my dog can get used to being away from me?
Anytime you leave the dog with us, you will be charged the half day rate for less than 4 hours or the full day rate for more than 4 hours. However, the first 2 hours are included in your $20 screening fee, so you will not be charged for them.
If I leave my dog with you immediately after the screening, is this considered part of the screening?
No, the screening lasts 45 minutes and anytime you leave the dog in the center with us, you will be charged either the half day or the full day rate depending upon how long your dog is here, with your first two hours included in your $20 screening fee.
When can I pick up my dog from the cage free Boarding?
You can pick up your dog M-F 7am to 7:30pm and Saturdays 9am-5pm. We are closed on Sundays.
However, if you pick up your dog before 9am you will not be charged for an extra half day or day of day care.
What if I pick up my dog after 9am Monday to Friday or after 10am on Saturday?
You will be charged for an extra half day or full day of day care, depending on how long your dog stays.
Do you have any discounts?
Yes we do, Loved Dog Assistants can tell you about our discounts.
Can I use the frequent barker discount and the weekly and/or Monthly discounts together?
No, you cannot combine any discounts. If you get the frequent barker discount you cannot also obtain the weekly or monthly discount for the same period of time.
If I leave my dog for a month or more at the cage free boarding, can I get the weekly discounts also?
No, you can only get one discount for any time period. In that case you would only get the monthly discount.
Could doggie day care or a cage free boarding environment be stressful for my dog?
It could be, although not normally, because it is a very playful and fun environment for your dog. However, the change of place and routine, along with your absence, could be stressful for your dog. Like people, dogs exhibit stress in a number of ways, including loss of appetite, a weaker immune system, diarrhea, nervousness, etc. All of these things are perfectly normal, and they usually subside after the dog has gotten used to the new environment. Unlike a caged environment where your dog may not receive consistent attention, because we are completely cage free, there is always someone with your dog at all times so we can give your dog personal attention and love to ease the transition to the
What happens if my dog gets sick while he/she is here?
In this unlikely event, we will take your dog either to his/her own vet or if that is not possible, we will take him/her to a vet that is near our center. You will always be immediately informed, should this be the case.
